Orlas Collection-Cast Glass
THE STORY
I created a cast glass sun, moon and cloud for my daughter Orla before she was born. My intention was to add a rainbow and I thought now would be as good a time as any to start the process; it would be a perfect little reminder for her and for me of this bizarre time! I didn’t have my own studio at the time or a kiln at home, so I decided to get a mould ready to fire when the lockdown was lifted. It came to me whilst painting with my daughter, why not make a plaster version you can decorate!? We had fun decorating our rainbow together and realised this would make a great craft kit.
